You have to start when they are kittens. None of mine will even tolerate collars.

I’m in awe of the people who show cats as those cats let strangers handle them. That takes a lot of time to accomplish.

Ninja got his name as a kitten not simply because of his color, but because of his leaping ability. He has proportionally longer legs than Sox, and can make prodigious leaps. Ringo can leap, but she isn’t moving the mass that Ninja has.

Fortunately he was “tutored” early, and doesn’t have to prove anything.

Ninja is one substantial cat! I’m not surprised he’s laid back; most large cats I’ve known are pretty much fearless, and don’t seem to have anything to prove.

Fortunately, Lark, Ninja’s attitude is extremely laid back. He gets harassed by the feral cats attacking his lead, but he just drags them along when their claws get stuck in the rope.

Oh, that cat has the same coloring as my little black and white cat, Penelope. She is small, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in attitude!

Rugo, Ninja lives with CC and Boots in a neighbor’s house and they are all on ropes when outside. That is a “large dog” leash attached to his collar. Their caretaker doesn’t want them running into the road.
