Mort provides the necessary information for a lot of the later books, and it's a fine primer for "unintended consequences".

Bryan, I remembered, not just any book, but Terry Pratchett's Mort ... which I am enjoying a great deal; it's my first time reading it.

As I've said before, I don't try to avoid jury service; I resent it only if I feel my time has been wasted. I realize that creating a jury selection process that meets the requirements for randomness and absence of undue racial imbalance is not easy, and I'm willing to cut them some slack if it enhances the overall justice of the system.

Steve, in a decent jury system they could flag records and only call people for certain cases on the docket rather than calling people who the attorneys will reject out of hand. Think good thoughts, and I hope you remembered to take a book.

Andante, Ringo needs to be in the center of the chair which will automatically force her into a circle.

Perhaps Ringo needs a spinal adjustment from your local feline chiropractor? Or maybe, as the song says, "let your backbone slip".

"You must become the circle. Make yourself the cat-essence of circleness, and the physical circle will emerge..."

I'll cat-blog when I'm able. Tonight, I must at least try to sleep... tomorrow, Trial by Jury, and all that, and I'm not referring to a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta.
