The “alt” harmony, with its clashing, grinding sound… e.g., the backup singers on the word “taxman” the first time… was made for this day. It’s a sort of musical gritting of teeth.

A 95% tax on everything above £10,000 would have made me grit my teeth.
I’m pretty sure that was a tribute concert in Britain for George. I do like Eric.
