OWL, I’ve been feeding Molly for over a decade and known her since she was a kitten. She walked up to me for this shot, but doesn’t always. I have to kneel down and let her approach if I scratch her. She has her moods. She is feral, and forgetting that can be painful.

That sums up my relation with her, Steve, I let her decide if it’s a good day to be friendly.

Molly looks like a cat not to be messed with, by feline or human. I am glad, Bryan, that you have an understanding of sorts with her, but it’s good that you realize there are limits to that understanding. I might consider approaching her once that paw is not as quick as it used to be. Otherwise, better you than me…

It looks like pretty Molly is tame. You got mighty close with that camera. She looks very healthy. You obviously take good care of those feral cats.

She will nail me if she thinks I’m over doing it, but she doesn’t extend all the way, like she does with cats who challenge her.

She’s a sweetheart, the only feral I can touch on a regular basis as she enjoys having the back of her head scratched.

Actually with a left front paw that hasn’t slowed down much over the years, Jams. She tends to certify adult status the first time she nails you for crowding her at the food dish. Kittens are tolerated, but when she decides that somecat is no longer a kitten, the paw strikes.

When an older cat forgets themselves the paw comes down on the top of the head with claws extended and pins the victim until there is a mutual understanding of status.
