Where’s the powder room?

[Editor: Ringo goes out occasionally, but she doesn’t socialize as she did before the “operation”.]

“… but she doesn’t socialize as she did before the “operation’.” – Bryan

And it’s a good thing she doesnt! Bryan, that’s a good pic of a more mature Ringo; insert old jokes about “sadder but wiser” here.

(Damn, that’s the second time today I’ve blown a closing tag…)

Cats get very friendly when it’s “time”. She just isn’t a friendly cat since motherhood, although she does tend to lick the “kids” after she nails them.

It’s not as easy to edit comments with this template, as the old one, or I’d cover your tracks. 😉

i can tell that that’s not a photo of my momcat only because it’s outdoors. the crew here still hasn’t fully recovered from christopher houdini’s one foray out into the front yard.

Ah so there will be fewer “gentlemen callers” then! She is a beautiful cat

One with her eyes open! Grats! lol

The hiding places and food are much better in your place than outside, besides Christopher probably embellished his version of the incident. 😉

She has finally matured and is getting matronly. Her eyes are becoming the truer green of the Korat breed. She can’t claim is all fur, because she’s a single-coat cat.

Yes, LK, without the flash, I can finally take a picture of her eyes. It took three attempts, but I got them.

if you’re not embellishing your stories, you’re telling them wrong.

Took *just* three attempts? Makes you better at cat photography than me, then. Takes me at least a dozen tries to get anything out of my guys.

She looks like she’s becoming a chubby kitteh like The Mighty Fang, seems to me ;-).

Well, that’s true, Hipparchia.

Yeah, Badtux, I think it’s time to check on the weight thing with with her vet. Some of it is the “operation” but there may be something else going on, like she never scaled back eating after she finished nursing. That was three attempts with a flash. I have made dozens of attempts with a flash to no avail. I think they hear the capacitor charging and cringe.

mom cat did the same as ringo, put on a lot of weight after her operation too. i’m going to guess that it has less to do with the operation and more to do with having enough fat to feed kittens. none of my other spayed females [or neutered males] — cats, dogs, or horses — has ever gained huge amounts of weight as a result of being fixed. but i’ll be interested to hear what her vet says.

interesting side note: curmudgeon cat ballooned from his former 12-ish pounds [a healthy weight for him] to his present 15-ish pounds shortly after his older ‘brother’ died a few years ago.

I may have to encourage her to get outside and run more. It’s almost like she swallowed a soccer ball, and for a while I feared that the “operation” hadn’t been a success.

I’ll let you know.

the two that i can’t catch are females, so i’ve had to focus on getting the males taken care of first. there was a brief overlap between one of the girls suddenly developing an interest in the boys, and getting the last of the boys fixed, so i’ll be holding my breath for a few more weeks. not that the population increase would even be noticeable at this point….

Wow! Ringo has sure grown into a beauty. Those blue gray cats are so cute. She’s just sitting there looking at you. You must be talking to her while taking her photo.

You can hope for a small litter, Hipparchia. Two months is normal.

Actually she losing a staring match with the Lone Ranger, the queen of the backyard, although there’s twice as much Ringo as LR.
