The weird thing is that her mother is relatively calm. You can’t touch her, but she doesn’t run away and I occasionally have to step over her on the way to my back door because she doesn’t move. The kittens are another story, other than meal time – Human? Axe murderer! Run away!

She still comes and spins like a dervish when food is involved, but this had to be taken with the built-in telephoto because she evaporates if I don’t have food readily available. Ferals are only active in the early morning and beginning in late afternoon. If I switch to B&W she disappears.

I only got this close because she was “hiding” behind the vegetation.

I still don’t think I’d attempt to touch the kitten myself. I’ve already paid my dues in scratches, back when I lived with far friendlier indoor cats.

or a little more yummy food. i can now touch all the cats. although the uncatchables are still wary, i could probably shove them all into carriers now if i had to evacuate for a storm.
