So You Want To Be A Pundit

This Tuesday the pundits will be watching the governor’s races in New Jersey and Virginia, as well as the special Congressional election in New York. If you want to be a media pundit here’s how you respond to the results:

Democratic win: “The race was decided on local issues.”

Democratic loss: “This was obviously a referendum on the Obama administration.”

Looking at the governors’ races I think I could have come up with four better candidates at a homeless shelter, or from among WalMart greeters. The process for selecting candidates has obviously bottomed out. Next time the “party leaders” should look behind cash registers at convenience stores – those people have a better command of English, a better feel for the economic reality, and they can accurately count money. Try the late shift if you are looking for someone who will be tough on crime. 😈

i have to go to walmart if i want the cheap old-fashioned unscented clay cat litter, but i have to say, a few of the greeters i’ve met there might truly be worthy candidates for office.

as for the tough on crime, you speak the truth. we’ve had a couple of convenience store owners here over the years pull out their guns and shoot the person who was trying to hold them up.

Four better, four worse; four certainly not richer, four very probably poorer, if they’re Wal-Mart greeters…

Now that’s saving the taxpayers’ money, and besides, due process is soooo messy… 🙄

Hipparchia, I’m certainly not talking about truly qualified to be candidates for office, I’m talking about being better than the candidates running for governor in New Jersey and Virginia. I have to assume that WalMart does a better job of vetting employees than political parties do in vetting candidates these days.

Due process, Steve? This is Florida, home of the two-day murder trial and legalized gun battles over parking spaces. The Feds just convicted my Sheriff and his his staff of money laundering, and the state is working its way through the rest of the upper level.
