Morning Routine

Friday Cat Blogging

Zzzz, zzzz, zzzz…

[Editor: Every morning I have to evict this pile of gray fuzz, Income, from my office chair. The sleeping position may look like an invitation to a tummy rub, but that is contra-indicated unless you subscribe to the old medical practice of bleeding, i.e. IT”S A TRAP! DON”T ATTEMPT IT!.]

Whad’ya mean, YOUR office chair? Didn’t you say just recently that over the years you’d earned a lot of Income in that chair?

Hmm, grey chair, grey cat… CAMOUFLAGE!

I trained TMS to accept a belly rub by use of leather welding gloves to prevent the bleeding part of the equation . Eventually he got tired of chewing on the glove and allowed me to scritch his tummy. Took me five years to build up to the point where I could take the glove off to scritch his tummy though!

Well that looks like a ruse to trap the unwary Ailurophile!

Yah, welding gloves should definitely be part of your basic cat kit, even if you do have a high pain threshold.

Actually, Steve, that was in the earlier red wool Sitmatic that his mom destroyed, and is now a cat perch. While I make some income in this chair, Income was made outside and I had nothing to do with it. He was, however, born next to it, so it will always be “home”.

Working gloves and a real Levi’s jacket work well, BT, but I restrict tummy rubs to Sox, who usually likes them.

Definitely, Jams. He is set to start “bicycling” on the arm of the unwary.

Welding gloves are also useful for handling macaws, PJ, as I learned while pet-sitting one for a relative.

Aw! What a cute kitty! Do you have to get the broom to move Income from your chair? 🙂 My kitties like to claw, too.

I roll him onto his stomach and push on his butt, OWL. Eventually he leaves, usually by climbing the back of the chair so he can jump off.
