Hubble Turns 25

The ABC notes the silver celebration: NASA marks Hubble Space Telescope’s 25th anniversary with release of Westerlund 2 star cluster. There is a video of the cluster and a link to Hubble’s ‘greatest hits’.

The universe is filled with wonders that we only know about because of instruments like Hubble. Hubble has managed to affirm or refute many theories about the formation of our universe which make things more understandable.

Bah, the only thing you need to understand the universe is the Bible.

They would have a better case if their weren’t two versions of creation in their book.

But… but… GOD!

Yeah, I’ve never gotten the reliance upon the Bible as a science text when it can’t even make up its mind about how the world was created. But the Christiban will never admit that these creation stories are fables, because the Bible is infallible. They’ll just mumble something about how they’re both true, but human minds aren’t smart enough to figure out how.

If you actually read the Bible and have ever taken a literature course, it is obvious from the variations in vocabulary choice and sentence structure that there were multiple authors involved in every chapter. I have checked with people who read Hebrew and it is true in the Torah, not just the translated versions. This was a cut and paste operation that occurred over an extended time frame. A number of the stories were plagiarized versions from Gilgamesh.

But they were DIVINELY INSPIRED multiple authors, praise Jeeeezus, Amen! You’re there in Fundistan and you didn’t know that? LOL.

Reality is that there is literally no argument that will make the Christiban believe that there’s anything beyond the Bible because Faith, Faith I say. glory hallalujah amen washed in the blood of the Lamb and accepted Jeeeeezus as personal savior! To which I have a pat answer when someone asks me if I’ve accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. “No thank you, I’m heterosexual.”

Actually I wouldn’t get so annoyed if I thought they actually read and can comprehend what is actually written rather than twisting it up to serve a private agenda or prejudice.
