This & That

Donald Trump blasts ‘fools’ who oppose good Russian ties, which is exactly the strange attitude on Trump’s part that caused people to look into his relationship with Russia. That research resulted in Trump ‘compromising’ claims: How and why did we get here?.

Now we have Ex-MI6 officer Christopher Steele in hiding after Trump dossier, because Putin has few friends, but no enemies, for long.

The reality is that these revelations really reduce the effectiveness of any blackmail threats. By this time everyone should be aware he’s a sexual predator and pervert, you know – ‘a star’.

Then there is the announcement that the Inspector General of the Department of Justice is to probe FBI Clinton email actions.

Update: Trump reacted by repeating his tired cheer to his minions the ‘she is guilty as hell’, but no one is able to tell the sane people on the planet exactly what she is guilty of. Other than being named Clinton and being a Democrat, she used the same e-mail procedures as the previous two Republican Secretaries of State. [Thinking of Trump supporters as chubby little yellow creatures in coveralls speaking gibberish helps, trust me on this.]

Finally we have a welcome change: US visa-free residency for Cubans ends. Now Cubans are going to be forced to endure the same process as everyone else.

Frankly, I think nothing other than video of him in bed with a dead girl or live boy would be enough to blackmail him with. Anything else, it’d be like with his taxes. “So?” Implying that you, the person asking the question, would do the same thing if you were rich like him.

And his voters probably buy that.

Well, I for one definitely overestimated the intelligence of a large segment of Americans. I’d been thinking they were as bright as the old gas lamps compared to an LED torch! But know I can see they’re are as bright as a black hole compared to a supernova!!

To bad Obama waited so long for the Cuban Visa change. Still, it is about time. *shrug* Amazing what get’s done when time is running out.

And he definitely should pardon Snowden. I know it won’t happen. But Biden get’s a medal. What for, I have no idea! As far as I could see… he didn’t do much if anything. *shrug*

No, Badtux, it would have to be a goat in Mossy Head 😈

Kryten, this the desired effect of post-truth – some people will only believe a very limited number of sources for their information – sources that agree the prejudices that they learned at their daddy’s knee.

There are rumors that he will reduce or commute Manning’s sentence, and he might pardon Snowden, but he has convinced himself that doing it will ‘damage’ his legacy.

The Medal of Freedom is awarded by the President for whatever he/she wants to award it for. There are no requirements other than the President likes you. Biden would have been a major help to Obama with Congress and the Washington system. Obama was an outsider and Biden was an insider. This also probably marks Biden’s retirement from public service. The Shrubbery gave one to John Howard, so that should tell you how important it is 😈

Yeah. Have you been watching our clowns lately? At least the useless Minister for Health has finally gone! One down, so many to go! *sigh*

I was reading The Onion! Needed a sanity break! LOL

Transition Team Assures Public Trump Has Too Many Conflicts Of Interest To Favor Any Specific One

The funniest part is, it’s probably not far from the truth! 😆

Then, this from Salon:
What do we know about Donald Trump’s outrageous “dossier”? Almost nothing — except that it exposes his most serious weaknesses

Donald Trump, like a giant orange Godzilla, has gone crashing through the political landscape, destroying all manner of ethical norms and standards in his wake.

Even more terrifyingly, there’s very good reason to fear he’s going to get away with it because congressional Republicans are happy to go along with Trump’s lying and likely corruption. Also, the conservative base is completely uninterested in facts and decency, preferring instead to just idolize the Dear Orange Leader.

In face of all this, liberals who continue to insist on democratic norms and the importance of basic decency and honor can, at times, look impotent, often to the point of embarrassing. Some folks have even started suggesting it’s time to give up on all that, arguing that it’s a waste of time when conservatives in the Trump era have become so shameless.

He’s spent the past two years blatantly lying at every opportunity, repeatedly stating that true things are false and false things true. He has zero credibility on any issue of substance, and his denials carry no weight. If anything, his denials likely reinforce suspicions that the story is true because of the sheer probability that whatever Donald Trump says, the facts are likely to be the opposite.

😆 😆 😆

IOKIYAR [It’s OK if you’re a Republican] You’ll see this a lot for actions that the Republicans yelled about when Democrats did them, but are totally silent about when Republicans do them. The way that Trump’s nominees are being handled is a good example. The Democratic leader in the Senate sent a copy of a letter that was sent to him by the Republican leader regarding Obama’s nominees. The letter was returned to sender indicating that Trump’s nominees should be judged by the same procedure, but of course that didn’t happen – IOKIYAR

Trump is going to increase the National Debt – IOKIYAR

Trump is going to run deficits, and use signing statements, and issue Executive Orders, and all sorts of other actions that the Congressional Republicans condemned Obama for doing, but IOKIYAR

Trump is hiding just about everything. He’s playing a role, not living a life. He needs his ‘team’ around him to tell him what to think while he plays on Twitter. He needs writers to tell him what to say

8 Badtux { 01.14.17 at 11:28 pm }

Trump reminds me of Ronald Reagan in that respect (playing a role, I mean). Except Reagan actually had some respect for rule of law. I haven’t seen that Trump has any respect for anything except money and power.

9 Kryten42 { 01.15.17 at 7:05 am }

Trump only loves himself. He believes he is completely entitled to money & power. And anything else he wants. He’s the cowardly bully that want’s to rule the World!

Good luck. Your gonna need a lot of it! And so will we all.

Trump believes that the amount of money you have is the only gauge of your worth. He ignores, as do most people, that he has been losing money since he took over the family business. Estimates are that he is about $5 billion behind where he would be if he had left his trust untouched. He is a wealthy incompetent surrounded by people who tell him he’s ‘a star’. Where are his accomplishments?

He really is going to start something with China, which will certainly affect the Pacific Rim and the prices at WalMart.
