Juan Cole notes that Trump picks fights with US Allies: Germany, NATO, EU, Britain etc. The guy keeps talking about what a great ‘deal-maker’ he is, so when does it start? So far he seems hellbent on destroying most of our existing ‘deals’ without any replacements in sight.
Germany rejects Donald Trump’s claims it owes NATO and US ‘vast sums’ for defence. Trump knows nothing about NATO or defense. These alliances are based on treaties, and Trump might want to have someone read them to him or get an account at Audible, because there is little evidence of his reading ability. The last I saw was 5 dead and 40 injured. The perpetrator drove through pedestrians, crashed, and then attacked a policeman with a knife, before being shot by another officer.

You need to prove competency to drive, so you should be required to show competency to create legislation that covers a specialty area. What these people really want to do is censor people – to kill free speech when they feel like it.
While I would personally like to see SCROTUS kicked off Twitter ‘to protect the children’, I will defend his right to be an asshole because I firmly believe that free speech is something worth dying for. Let the haters talk so everyone will know who they are and what they believe. Brandis should deal with his own ethical problems before complaining about others.

Also, the unemployed only get $267 per week! This SOB get’s $313,500/yr + a generous allowance & a lifetime pension much higher than normal age pension with no means test!

They should use the money to build barracks for MPs. If they are good enough for the people getting shot at, they are good enough for the people who order them into danger. We do a similar thing in the Florida legislature, but it only meets 60 days and the members are only paid about $27K. It’s a part-time job.
It is hard to believe that you can’t get a motel room and breakfast for half of that per diem. Hell, we are paying hundreds of thousands to fly SCROTUS to Florida every weekend, and these days most Congresscritters fly back to their district on the weekends on the public dime.
