Your Alibi Roundup

The first excuse that SCROTUS offered for the miserable legislative failure that was Trumpcare – the lack of Democratic support. This resulted in a stunned ‘WTF?’ pause, and then that “Nasty Woman”, Nancy Pelosi, took a victory lap.

Since that was not the desired reaction, he attacked the House Freedom Caucus and its supporters on Twitter. Surrogates followed up by attacking Paul Ryan and Reince Priebus.

Despite what his voters were led to believe about his negotiating skills, Drumpf is the C.M.O.T. Dibbler of real estate. He didn’t take the time to look at the bill he wanted passed, and wasn’t able to come up a cogent reason to vote for it. His concept of negotiating was a rather arrogant threat to go after people who didn’t do what he wanted.

I realized that this guy only plays the President in movies but he knows how to accept responsibility.

I just found this bit of word fun and liked it enough to buy it. It is descriptive and concise. 😈

😆 Thanks needed a good laugh! 😆 Dibbler! Yeah… And the rest. 😀

I came across an interesting & timely article:

Why Arendt Matters: Revisiting “The Origins of Totalitarianism”

Makes some valid points I think. 🙂

It gives clues to why people are voting against their own interest thinking they are part of something bigger than than their rather boring descent into a hell of their own creation. It is a variation of the martyrdom that drives suicide bombers. These people believe that they will better off in an afterlife, so the misery in this life don’t matter – they are making sacrifices for a greater future good. Hopefully they wake up before it kills them.

Dibbler was competent by comparison with the giant talking cheeto. Just sayin’ ;).

OK, you’re right. Dibbler started with nothing and still has it, but Drumpf has been losing money since he inherited 👿

I got it today. I don’t expect locals will get it, but they don’t get a lot of things.

Personally, I think the quote by the character ‘Creasy’ in “Man on Fire” (2004) [paraphrased by Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf – RIP] should be applied to those who care more for the afterlife than this life:

“Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange the meeting.”

It was my job once. 😛

If the ‘afterlife’ is their goal, I’m OK with their choice as long as they don’t try to take other people with them. I don’t see the logic of thinking that you get extra credit for including other people in your delusion.

The last time I checked G*d had an oversized tool chest when it came to introducing humans to the afterlife. Why waste time convincing humans to do something that Staphylococcus aureus is ‘designed’ do with no fuss? What’s the point of creating plagues if you are going to outsource the job to guys in bathrobes?

That and many other reasons. *shrug* I’ve never claimed to be a *nice guy* to self-deluded, irrational, ignorant morons!

I’ve been reading this fascinating article about what’s happening in Aus. (with a bit of USA & UK thrown in, because what happens there very much affects us).

It’s a bit of a read, but I think worth the time. 🙂

The Tricky Business of what Happens Next

Good read.

What you should be aware of is that the US has been down this road more than once, usually with a preceding religious ‘awakening’ followed by a nasty case of xenophobia. The disease runs it course, but isn’t a pleasant experience. People keep saying ‘what were we thinking’ and ‘never again’ but after a couple of generations people forget.

In some areas Holocaust survivors are speaking out, and that has some effect, but not enough.

I noticed that Marine Le Pen of France’s wingnuts is a newly minted Putin supporter. Someone should audit her books.
