Day 100

Only 1361 to go….

The one major accomplishment that Trump has managed to rack up is the number of protests that have taken place since he was selected by the Electoral College. Today it was climate change, but from the Women’s March though today more people have participated in more different protests than any other President in my life time, which goes back to Harry Truman. There were more people involved in the civil rights marches and in the anti Vietnam marches, but those were singular issues. No President that I can think of has annoyed so many people for so many different reasons.

I read on some blog that Trump’s first 100 days were the worst ever, even that of William Henry Harrison who was dead for 69 of those days.

2 Bryan { 04.30.17 at 3:16 pm }

It is a matter of your point of view. From the POV of the big chair in the Oval Office, Trump is more successful as he was alive after 100 days. For the inhabitants of the US, Harrison clearly wasn’t the disaster that Trump is.

3 Badtux { 05.01.17 at 11:08 am }

And now Trump says that the problem isn’t him, it’s the Constitution, it’s archaic and needs to be scrapped.

Didn’t take him 100 days to go full Erdogan on us.

4 Bryan { 05.01.17 at 6:10 pm }

Trump attended K-12 in New York and would have had the NYS Regents approved curriculum which includes four years of social studies. He was taught all of this stuff, but has obviously forgotten it. He is learning why you can’t run government like a business, no matter what conservatives may believe. He doesn’t like the fact that Congress doesn’t automatically do what he wants. and the press is ‘mean’ to him. An individual who lost the popular vote by three million shouldn’t be complaining about the ‘archaic’ Constitution, it is the reason he is in the Oval Office.

5 Kryten42 { 05.02.17 at 7:41 am }

Yeah… But he’s a completely immoral, unethical a’hole! Hope he has a stroke. May even be an improvement!

Came across this… Seriously, WTF??!

A Woman Is On Trial For Laughing During A Congressional Hearing

Obviously, Cops get training in the USA as in that Blazing Saddles sketch badtux posted! “Sign your name, here’s your badge!”

US is so fucked. Maybe the Artic melting will have a huge silver lining! You better move inland m8! Maybe the Rockies?

6 Kryten42 { 05.02.17 at 9:12 am }

And this (just for a laugh!) LMAO

@RealDonaldTrump
“either elect more Republican Senators in 2018 or change the rules now to 51%. Our country needs a good “shutdown” in September to fix mess!”

@RogueSNRadvisor
“Hey Chief, gonna need you to start taking those pills again, maybe stop the late night pie binges, k?”

Me:
“He’s just the voice of GOP. Have u listened to Pence, Sessions, McConnell, Paul etc? He has no censor & they don’t care what happens 2 him!😒”

That earned me a few new followers! 😆 If nothing else, Trump is good for my Twitter acc’t! From 72 in Jan, to 306 now! 😆

7 Bryan { 05.02.17 at 9:51 pm }

Kryten, it is entirely possible that he has had a stroke as he is more erratic than usual in the last few days. He is not comfortable in his current situation and seems to be striking out, possibly seeking attention. He doesn’t really have any friends, and his wife is in New York. The guy is not terribly happy being alone. It is unfortunate that he didn’t take the time to learn what the job was before he decided to run for President.

If he isn’t happy, he should just resign – everyone would feel better. 😈

8 Kryten42 { 05.06.17 at 2:45 am }

Well, Turdbully finally made it to the USA to kiss the God’s ring! The astounding part is we have our a$$kissing sycophantic narcissist kissing the a$$ of the USA’s a$$kissing sycophantic narcissist! 😂😂 Synchronicity?

Of course, Prez Chump sat there with that stupid smug expression he has when Turdbull held out his hand to shake. As God, everyone is beneath his contempt. *shrug* But Turdbull would still fetch Chump’s slippers if told to!

Of course, the real reason for TB’s trip wasn’t to meet Chump, but his actual lord & master’s Murdoch, Pratt & other $billionaires. Chump was just BS PR.

I was reading the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. This is their latest:
The political and military vulnerability of America’s land-based nuclear missiles

And this ongoing cover-up by a 3-letter acronym that we know well:
American Journalist Killed in Turkey for Revealing the Truth Regarding ISIS-Daesh

Tragically sad, but sadly business as usual. And again “So glad I’m out of it!”

9 Kryten42 { 05.06.17 at 3:07 am }

And this, the icing on the cake! 😆

There are diseases hidden in the ice, and they are waking up

Welcome to the next mass-extinction event! Brought to you by Human greed & stupidity. And deservedly so. *shrug*

10 Kryten42 { 05.06.17 at 11:15 am }

AP just posted a News item about Flynn. Quite troubling (from a US security perspective).

Trump transition raised flags about Flynn Russia contacts

11 Bryan { 05.07.17 at 1:17 am }

You guys need to deal with your own problems and stop trying to get along with the US. Trump doesn’t know or care about the Southern Hemisphere and your concerns. He is going to annoy Asia until something bad happens and Australia will pay a heavier price than the US. He doesn’t have business interests in your country, so it doesn’t exist for him.

Silo weapons are really a waste of time, money, and space. They should be shut down and the silos sold to wingnuts so they can protect themselves from their ‘demons’.

We are releasing methane and viruses from the permafrost as the Arctic warms. Trump doesn’t believe that, so he is having the data purged. He doesn’t want to be annoyed by reality.

12 Kryten42 { 05.07.17 at 1:01 pm }

Preaching to the choir dude! 😉 😀

13 Bryan { 05.07.17 at 11:14 pm }

Not Quite – the people who are told to read my site as part of their job may not agree with me. For Americans NSA employees are the only people in government listening to them.

14 Kryten42 { 05.08.17 at 12:10 pm }

Well, I understand that. Same with many of my comments. Aimed at certain acronym dickheads more than anyone else. *shrug*

Here’s a good news story! And of course, it’s about someone with nothing giving everything he get’s to people that need it! Whilst people with money just take more & more & give nothing! Seems to me, if you want to be wealthy, the main way is one has to be born with no heart or soul. *shrug*

A young person gives a homeless man money and sees him run to the liquor store – Watch what happens next!

15 Badtux { 05.08.17 at 2:53 pm }

The only purpose silo weapons serve is as a target for other side’s nukes. Unless you’re going to do a 1st strike, they’re useless.

16 Kryten42 { 05.08.17 at 6:29 pm }

Yep! 😉

In other news… Seems the (short) honeymoon is over (as expected & I stated just before the appointment):

Washington Loves General McMaster, But Trump Doesn’t

Awwwww… Diddums! Da moron don’t like da smart man! Anyone got a spare dummy? LMAO

17 Bryan { 05.09.17 at 12:45 am }

Yes, Kryten, there are multiple studies that show that the less they have the more willing people are to share.

Absolutely, Badtux. The concept is supposed to be that they would provide guaranteed retaliation, but if the first strike is big enough the entire planet is toast so what’s the point?.

General McMaster was always going to do any job to the best of his ability, and was never going to engage in politics. He is going to tell Trump the truth, and Trump can’t handle the truth.

18 Kryten42 { 05.10.17 at 1:59 am }

Trumper is definitely completely unhinged! Shouldn’t be long now… LOL

Behind Comey’s firing: An enraged Trump, fuming about Russia

What a complete moron! Totally devoid of rationality & even an infinitesimal sense of reality! USA should have dealt with the fool long ago! This isn’t new.

19 Kryten42 { 05.10.17 at 5:00 pm }

One of my US Twitter followers tweeted that she thinks Trump has syphilis! given his behavior is paralleling Hitler’s more every day, not an unreasonable presumption! He’s as monogamous & faithful as a Rooster in a Hen-house, & could be a reason why his beloved wife prefers to stay in NYC!

Still, we can only presume. 😀

20 Bryan { 05.10.17 at 7:17 pm }

He has his doctor telling people that he is in excellent shape, but he takes Crestor, a drug for reducing cholesterol. Pictures show that he is clearly overweight which can indicate blood flow problems which can cause dementia, just as syphilis will. Senile dementia is not all that unusual at 70, and Alzheimer’s syndrome can take off at an earlier age.

I don’t think it is unrelated that Comey asked for more resources for the Russian investigation while Trump was blowing up airbase cafeterias to divert attention from it.

There are people wondering if Jared might be at risk in the investigation. This is a counterintelligence investigation, so killing it won’t be easy, especially after the French election. NSA already provided a heads-up to the French, British, and Germans over hacking activity by GRU related hackers.

His wife is staying in NYC to keep her son in his school. I don’t think the kid has ever moved, so she may be worried that it would be traumatic to leave his friends and teachers. The Trumps don’t have a nanny or grandparents near by to help.

21 Kryten42 { 05.11.17 at 2:26 pm }

Trump continues to prove daily he’s a completely ignorant moron. And he’s making the decisions!

Trump May Have Just Derailed A Crucial Part Of America’s Future Aircraft Carrier Fleet

Unbelievable. For many reasons!

22 Kryten42 { 05.11.17 at 2:34 pm }

I should mention though, that the CVN 78 is looking like the Navy’s lemon akin to the USAF’s 35. *shrug* But not just because of EMALS. It has several other issues. And again, mostly due to incompetence & greed.

I liked this comment the most! 😆 😆

Trump: “You need steam, I tell ya! My tremendous engineering knowledge tells me you need good old, reliable, coal fired steam. Smokestacks proudly pumping smoke into the sky…smoking stacks shows power! So, admiral, how many sailors to you have shoveling coal into the boilers at any one time?”

Admiral: “Uhhh…Mr President, the ship is run on nuclear power.”

Trump: “What’s that?”

23 Bryan { 05.11.17 at 8:43 pm }

The closest association that man has with any of the STEM subjects is playing golf and selecting clubs for a specific effect. He grew up in real estate, took courses that dealt with real estate and business.

There is a distinct advantage to not using steam to do anything but spinning turbines to generate electricity or turn propellers. Moving live steam around for any purpose is dangerous, and pressurized steam lines are even more dangerous – if there is a rupture people can and do die.

He gets his decorating tips from the 17th century [Louis XIV] and his engineering from the 19th – a Cavalier steam punk?

24 Badtux { 05.12.17 at 12:13 am }

Not to mention that at this point, going to steam for the catapults would cost more than getting EMALS working right.

Though I must say that EMALS has proven better on paper than in reality. The British tried EMALS on a dummy carrier at the contractor who was proposing they use EMAILS to see if they could make it work for the Queen Elizabeth class carriers, and couldn’t get it to work any better than the Ford (the QE’s don’t use steam at all, period — the motors turning the props are electric, and they have a variety of diesel and gas turbine generators to spin up as needed to goose the juice to vary the speed of the carrier, so couldn’t have a steam catapult regardless). So they went with the F35-B (the fan jet version of the F-35) and ski jumps instead. That said, if EMALS ever works, they could take off the ski jumps (which are these big bolt-on items, not part of the ship’s hull) and refit to go with regular jets rather than F-35’s. The QE’s are significantly bigger than the Charles de Gaulle, which runs steam catapults to launch conventional jets, so there’s nothing stopping them from launching conventional jets if they ever have EMALS. But that’s if EMALS ever works…

25 Bryan { 05.12.17 at 10:46 am }

While our nuke carriers have a source of steam, running the necessary steam lines now would mean losing a lot of inner space, and messing around with the integrity of the bulkheads. You can’t go around and cut out a large section of wall in any structure without adding bracing.

EMALS, if they can sort it out, frees up a lot of space, and makes for a simpler process with many fewer moving parts.

26 Kryten42 { 05.13.17 at 2:07 am }

It seems that, as with the F-35, the CVN 78 has several issues yet to be resolved. Will be some time before real sea-trials or shakedown.

As expected, trump well & truly screwed himself firing Comey & his post interview where Trump all but admitted he fired Comey because he wouldn’t stop the Russia investigation.

Comey has been silent so far, but has informed Congress he will not sit for a private testimony & wants it public!

Get your popcorn: James Comey is insisting that his final Trump-Russia testimony be in public

Finger’s crossed! 😉 😀

27 Kryten42 { 05.13.17 at 2:21 am }

Just saw this from Vanity Fair:

Inside Trump’s Coming War With The F.B.I.

For the record, I don’t feel sorry @ all for Comey. But the way he was fired, that was quite incompetent and wrong.

On the bright side, the orange jammies will match trump’s complexion! Small mercies… 😉 😆

28 Bryan { 05.13.17 at 12:52 pm }

Comey has no intention of going “gentle into the night” as he was a Federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York that includes New York City and the financial district. He would have encountered Trump and his games before.

This is going to be about money and the laundering of ill gotten gains through real estate transactions by Russian oligarchs. The election hacking will be dealt with by organizations other than the FBI as it will probably not involve the courts to any great extent.

Trump might not be judged either competent to stand trail or culpable for his actions after a professional psych exam, so the FBI has a better chance for major wins going after the financial side. If they win, some or all of Trump’s assets could be forfeit as fruits of crimes.

Currently no one should discuss anything classified in the Oval Office. Trump has a meeting with the Russian foreign minister, the Russian ambassador to the US, and Russian “media”. I would be extremely surprised if the Russians didn’t use this opportunity to bug the place. There should be a deep sweep of the White House. The Russian don’t haul along Russian media to meetings with foreign leaders without a purpose in mind, and annoying photos in the Oval Office don’t qualify as a purpose.

29 Kryten42 { 05.13.17 at 11:03 pm }

Agree. Though, i honestly doubt anything serious or honest will happen. Case in point: Here’s the latest non-surprise!

Russian money-laundering details remain in the dark as US settles fraud case

Thus proving, once again, justice is a foreign concept that doesn’t exist in the USA.

30 Kryten42 { 05.14.17 at 3:34 am }

Seems Rosenstein threatened to resign after the narrative emerging from the White House on Tuesday evening! 😆

Maybe Trump wants to see how many AG’s he can replace in a year!

Inside Trump’s anger and impatience — and his sudden decision to fire Comey

Been chatting with Glyn Moody on Twitter. Like this latest:

Kryten42:
I think Trump will be gone a lot quicker than Bush2! He’s destroying himself nicely! Unbelievable, but GW was smarter!

Glyn Moody‏:
indeed

A man of few words! But it didn’t require more. 😉 😀

31 Kryten42 { 05.14.17 at 3:46 am }

Been looking for some $billion screw up the Army’s made, since we’ve had the USAF & Navy. Just to complete the Trifecta! 😆

Audit reveals Army’s trillion-dollar accounting gaffes

$6.5 trillion in accounting *errors* just in 2015 alone! 😮 😮 😮

We have a winner!

32 Kryten42 { 05.14.17 at 6:47 am }

Well! Just when one might think that the insane inmates of Trump’s asylum couldn’t get any more insane… They do!

Trump White House Says Diabetics Don’t Deserve Health Care

“Trump Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said that people with Type 2 diabetes don’t deserve to have health insurance because they gave themselves diabetes.”

Though, he does prove my point that Thrum & GOP generally are totally self-destructive!

“Not surprisingly the top nine states with the highest rates of diabetes were all won by Donald Trump in 2016 presidential election.”

USA has become the most uneducated moronic Nation on Earth! 🙄

33 Bryan { 05.14.17 at 8:03 pm }

Most financial crimes in the US are resolved with a ‘deal’ that includes no admission of guilt and no access to evidence. It sucks, but that’s the way things work.

The man is stuck with the self control of a three-year-old and always has been. Gary Trudeau has been mocking Trump for decades, and it is always the same, absolutely no self control. He didn’t get sent to a military high school because he wanted to join the Army – he had behavior problems.

All of the branches of the military have terrible accounting problems because they were ordered to to use a common accounting system that none of them had used previously. There are no ‘experts’ to figure out how to convert multi-year contracts from one system to another when there are a thousand forms used to report expenses and a significant number are unique to the individual services.. Something else that Rumsfeld thought would be a good idea.

Mulvaney is a total asshole. He has the compassion of a hungry python. The majority of people on public assistance of one form or another are rural whites – Trump’s base.

34 Kryten42 { 05.15.17 at 3:46 am }

You know I agree. And FYI, not much (if any) better here m8. Having a big discussion on Twitter about “the way we were”! I know more than most Aussies just how far down we’ve sunk due to my work in 80’s & 90’s. I can’t even give any details for most of it, but some hints. Worse than most know.

You know about the recent cyber attack on 72 countries? Apparently, some claim it was NSA tools used. I remember you saying these tools were a bad idea. You may have been right!

NSA Tools, Built Despite Warnings, Used in Global Cyber Attack

Annnnnd… As expected by those of us that understand the Russians & Putin, this:

The Russians trolled Trump and released photos of him on the internet

😆 😆 😆

35 Kryten42 { 05.15.17 at 6:28 am }
36 Bryan { 05.15.17 at 3:56 pm }

The new NSA has forgotten that the agency has two major objectives: penetrate unfriendly defenses and strengthen our own. They have shifted all of the resources to offense and let defense decay. The use of private contractors is beyond ignorant.

The tools were taken after Snowden. They did nothing effective to protect their systems despite the worse failure in Agency history, and they are still using private contractors. You are not protecting the American government and people by hiding weaknesses in our defenses from those who can correct them.

The story when they went up for auction was they were considered obsolete, so they were archived on a less than secure system. A Sherman tank is technically ‘obsolete, but it can damn sure ruin your day if it is used by someone who doesn’t appreciate your sense of humor or political choices.

The safest thing for Trump staffers to do is to publicly resign ASAP – saying they didn’t know anything and didn’t want to know anything.

37 Kryten42 { 05.17.17 at 2:21 am }

Agree. Should all be unbelievable… But *SHRUG*!

Been trying to find a single knowlegeable source about Trump impeachment. Found this. It’s long, but seem’s the least hysterical & plausible.

Bombshell: Initial Thoughts on the Washington Post’s Game-Changing Story

As a few friends on Twitter have said (paraphrasing) “The USA must be insane when we can look back @ the G.W. Bush years & call them ‘the good old days!'”

38 Bryan { 05.17.17 at 11:07 am }

I don’t think you can get a criminal conviction for Trump. Any decent defense attorney would plead diminished capacity, and the video tapes certainly show someone who is not competent to use a TV remote, much less a nuclear arsenal. OTOH, the 25th Amendment to the Constitution allows for the removal of a President who is incapacitated.

However they do it, Congress needs to do its job. Whether by impeachment or or the 25th Amendment, Trump needs to go.

39 Kryten42 { 05.18.17 at 2:11 am }

It’s certainly complicated! I’m almost certain Trump was set up to fail by his *friends*, maybe even family! Will be curious to see how it all plays out! Latest allegations about Flynn are going ballistic!

Anyway, just to prove how far Australia is indeed copying the good ol’ US of A…

Australian oil well leaked into ocean for months – but spill kept secret

Hmmmm. OK, in this instance (and a few others), possibly worse than the USA!

40 Bryan { 05.18.17 at 3:11 pm }

Trump has been this mad for decades. He was in the tabloids since the 1980s for his conspicuous consumption and bed hopping. He doesn’t doesn’t do anything he doesn’t want to do. The Israelis just turned down his request to land his helicopter on top of Masada, asking him to land below and take the cable car to the top because it’s a bloody UNESCO world heritage site that could be damaged by prop wash. He just cancelled if he had to do what everyone else does. Probably a good move as riding in a cable car in Israel after passing Israeli intel to the Russian would probably be too tempting.

Trump is, was, and always will be a schmuck. He thinks that he is a better judge of people that all of the background investigations in the world.

It took the US government weeks after the reality became obvious on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico that their initial estimate of outflow from the Deepwater Horizon was a bare fraction of reality. Too much traffic near the site and the problem started with a large explosion and fire, so there was no hiding it in the Gulf.

41 Kryten42 { 05.20.17 at 7:56 am }

Yes. 😉 😀

So… Twitter has gone apeshit over this gem!

Ivanka Trump leads meeting at White House in father’s absence

Seems people are realising the error on the ballot was a case of mistaken identity! Apparently, it was actually Ivanka that was elected POTUS! Phew! See… it isn’t as bad as everyone thought! Isn’t that nice? 🙄

Only in America!

42 Kryten42 { 05.20.17 at 8:12 am }

This, just for a laugh! 😆 😆 😆

The US rightwing’s idea of a valid scientific experiment! 😆

You have to follow the link! :p

43 Bryan { 05.20.17 at 9:34 pm }

I understand why she is leading the meeting, human trafficking was a cause for her before her father ran for President, but I don’t understand holding the meeting in the Oval Office, any more than I understand the decor in the Oval Office, The huge replica of a Congressional Medal of Honor and the the flags of the services – WTF?

I have no idea how he thought a spirit level was going to prove anything in an airplane. The aircraft would have ascended to the designated flight altitude, and then descended at the destination. He may not be aware of it, but what is happening in the rear of the aircraft is not necessarily what is occurring on the flight deck. That is why sitting over the wing offers an easier ride than the back of the aircraft, and first class is closest to the flight deck. That level is OK for checking level on appliances, but no one uses anything shorter than four feet to build a structure, even a garden shed.

44 Kryten42 { 05.22.17 at 1:35 am }

I don’t have a problem with the issue of discussion. But the rest… Seriously??!

The guy is just another typical moronic product of the rightwing *education* system! *shrug*

So, it seems Jared Kushner may be one of those under investigation. He just deleted all his tweets! 😆 Like that will help! Obviously the moron has no idea how the internet works! And pretty sure they already have all his tweets & more. 😆

45 Bryan { 05.22.17 at 9:58 am }

They aren’t interested in a discussion. They want their whacko views considered as valid as scientific facts collected by space craft, specialized aircraft, and balloons. With a powerful laser you can measure the curvature between two points on the ground if your instruments are accurate enough.

This mess is going to boil down to the Russians have been financing Trump and Kushner for years, and the cash involved is not exactly clean.
