Dealing With Dingbats

Via Charlie Pierce, Drumpf on Putin at his press conference:

“I want to thank him because we’re trying to cut down our payroll, and as far as I’m concerned I’m very thankful that he let go of a large number of people because now we have a smaller payroll. There’s no real reason for them to go back. I greatly appreciate the fact that we’ve been able to cut our payroll of the United States. We’re going to save a lot of money.”

Via Media Matters, Fox News anchor says the the media is showing a double standard by expecting more of Trump than from Kim Jong-Un 😈

I wonder – if I was a North Korean general responsible for the demonstration of force by firing four missiles to land off Guam, I would scheduled it a week or so later to give the ship with the four explosive charges that would indicate success time to reach the area off Guam. Four missiles would be fired from North Korea, and then there would be four explosions in the sea off Guam. The record of North Korean success is not great, and Kim will definitely get upset if the missiles fail.

Wait, you’re saying, won’t intel know that the launch and the explosions are unrelated? “Fake News!” just like the White House…

Even if we stopped paying them, we wouldn’t be saving anything. Trump has used up more of our money for his golf weekends and vacations-and I will bet that he plans to keep on golfing and vacationing… with a rally here and a rally there. His campaign fund may pay for his rallies, but we most likely have to pay for his use of Secret Service and Air Force One for the rallies.

The cost of relocating more than 700 members od the State Department will be millioins, and none of them has been fired, so their pay continues. Most are probably career people so you don’t just get to ‘lay them off’.

Every trip to Florida is $3 million plus. The campaign trips he makes are reimbursed by paying the going rate for first class tickets for the political people. which amounts to nothing compared to what it costs for Presidential protection. When he decided that he would stay at his Bedminster Golf Resort in New Jersey, it cost us over $4 million to install the security and communications equipment required, and to station people there.

This guy has probably surpassed Obama’s travel budget for 8 years in less than 8 months. Congress needs to cut him off.
