Out Of The Loop

For the last few days I have been engaged in my latest battle in the eternal war against 50-year-old galvanized steel plumbing. I was on battery power for two hours when another squirrel decided to become a crispy critter by shorting the transformer providing power to my house and the apartment where I was working. As that occurred on Halloween night with the “Harvest Festival” screwing up traffic in the neighborhood the normally fast resolution could not take place.

Looking at the latest multiple murder case, it becomes clear that the current President & Congress will soon purpose either banning rental trucks or require extreme “vetting” to be able to obtain one to take home an absurd barbeque grill. OTOH, there is nothing that can be done about ‘bump stocks’ or high capacity magazines. The logic is that driving is a privilege, while the ability to murder dozens with one trigger pull is a Constitutional right 😈

You know that mass shooting/murders no longer draw a response from the public or the media. We’re jaded! If every mass shooting got the same media attention as the New York truck incident there would be no time for anything else.

Checking some web-sites: https://www.thereligionofpeace.com/attacks/american-attacks.aspx reports 7 Islamic related attacks, 19 killed and 21 injured to date.
Mass shootings? https://www.massshootingtracker.org/data reports 370 ATTACKS that KILLED 520 people and WOUNDED 1571 to date. (Sorry for shouting) And the year is not over!

Oh and remember after Vegas that it was too soon to talk about firearms control? Remember? The blood hadn’t even been cleaned up of the streets of Manhattan and the odious idiot was already tweeting his bull.

We don’t know why the guy in Vegas did what he did, but we have the guy from the NYC incident in custody and can determine whether or not he meets the legal definition of sane. The claimed he was supporting ISIS, but he may have simply been committing ‘suicide by police’.

The Boston Marathon was Chechens and now Uzbeks. Trump’s travel bans don’t include the Caucasus peoples or the Central Asian countries, who have been supplying foreign fighters to ISIS. Not very well thought through.

It is always too soon to talk about gun control, and never soon enough to blame everything on Muslims. If Trump keeps talking he will screw up the legal process to bring the suspect to trial.

OT: use your old email address to avoid getting dumped into moderation.

Don’t forget about Walmart yesterday. Three dead in that one. Barely makes a blip on the radar. Maybe because he’s white. Hmm.

Let’s face it, the moment we decided as a nation that 20 little kids being shot down in cold blood at Sandy Hook wasn’t enough to justify gun restrictions, any chance of any kind of gun restrictions pretty much ended up out the window. Because if 20 dead little kids isn’t enough, there ain’t no number of adults that are enough.

If you spend enough money on lobbyists and propaganda you can distort time and space. A large enough bank account can create a gravity wave. 🙁

In the Manhattan case, the perp has been here for 7+ years. How can it be claimed that it was Islamic radicalization and not contamination of the American Radicalization process known as “going postal”?

I’d really like to see a breakdown of the postal affected by race, religion and political affiliation. Anybody know where such info is available?

When you have the current President* advocating religious bigotry, and one of the two major political parties endorsing that attitude, it is not unreasonable to expect a Muslim to feel oppressed – Muslims are being oppressed by the same assholes who marched in Charlotesville. He may have gone postal and have mental health issues and believe in the doctrines espoused by ISIS. Hell, millions of Americans thought Trump was qualified to be President with absolutely no evidence to support that belief.
