“Their Pervert”

Sure, Roy Moore may be a pervert, but to Alabama Republicans he is “their pervert” and they must vote for him or risk a Democrat being elected. Republicans don’t care that he may be a child molester as long as he is on the Republican ticket.

To those who say ‘it was a long time ago’ I would ask “How do you know?” These complaints came after 40 years, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t little girls who were molested more recently and are still afraid to say anything.

Keep in mind that when interviewed by Sean Hannity, Moore said he didn’t “generally” date teens. That is definitely not an absolute denial of what was written in the Washington Post. He admits to knowing some of those mentioned in the article.

Alabama Republicans think that they can escape the reality of choosing a man who may have molested little girls rather than a man who pursued justice for little girls murdered in their church. They may have a hard time getting forgiveness for that decision.

Update: Teresa Jones tweets “As a Deputy DA in Gadsden when Roy Moore was there, it was common knowledge about Roy’s propensity for teenage girls. I’m appalled that these women are being skewered for the truth”. Now it starts, and it will just get worse. People are going to start telling the truth after keeping silent for years.

ugh. I spent a nice happy weekend with family, far away from newspapers, tv, and computers, and now I return to find this?

Miracles can happen and enough women might be angry enough to refuse to vote for a pervert, but I’m not holding my breath. Some of these clowns act like they really believe that anyone with power would have accepted the word of a 14-year-old girl over an assistant district attorney. The chance of anyone in law enforcement risking annoying an ADA are less than zero. His actions were common knowledge, but no one in power did anything about them. If he had been black it would have been rope and tree without the expense of an arrest, trial, or conviction, but a white man with political pull – not a chance.

Yeah, according to the latest polls Roy Moore has become *more popular* with these revelations, gaining 5% in the polls. What. The. Fook. is wrong with Alabama?!

A society based on plantation mentality aided and abetted by patriarchal religious fundamentalism – it’s Afghanistan with an American English drawl instead of Pashto.

I’m willing to give patriarchal religious fundamentalism all the credit for this one.

That’s what he’s pushing – a return to the days when slavery was accepted and 12-years-old was the age of consent – just like Osama bin Laden. Ol’ Roy wants to ignore the last two millennia.
