Distractions

The new FireFox update is really annoying. They have moved things around so I have to look rather than knowing where what I want is located. They have redesigned some of the icons/buttons and changed the look of the tabs. They have generally mucked around with things and they broke the one add-on I actually liked and used: FireFTP. FireFox no longer has the ability to connect to my backend within the program. I have reverted to Filezilla, which is fine, but it is a separate program that has to be launched in a separate window, rather than a tab within FireFox.

They told me when it came up how fast the last update made FireFox, but it isn’t fast when I have to juggle another program.

Meanwhile, Australians decisively supported same-sex marriage in their mail-in referendum, and now the Parliament needs to create a law to deal with it. The people are probably more accepting than the politicians, and the politicians are being reduced by questions about their citizenship status, so who knows when the law will actually be passed.

In Africa, Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe, is ‘under house arrest’ after army takeover. Mugabe made a decision to remove his long-time Vice President and fellow veteran of the war for independence, Emmerson Mnangagwa, to facilitate naming his wife, Grace, as his successor. The general staff were not happy about that move. Mugabe is 40 years older than his current wife and senior officers of the military are all veterans of the war of independence.

Down in comments, Kryten highlights a decent cause – helping a 10-year-old in Flint, Michigan who is campaigning for a solution to their water crisis. She has met her GoFundMe goal, but she also has t-shirts that you can buy for people on your list ‘who have everything’.

I actually like the new FF Quantum (v57). I dumped FF a few years ago & moved to Chrome based browsers (NOT Chrome!).

Turdbull did what anyone sane expected. Picked up he marbles & ran home! Was all just an expensive sham, as we knew it would be. The good thing is the NO’s are really pissed & fuming because they have been shown conclusively they are the bigoted minority we always knew they were. 😆

He’s an interesting development regarding Mueller’s investigations:

A Split From Trump Indicates That Flynn Is Moving to Cooperate With Mueller

To each his own, and I have been a fairly consistent user going back to have a store bought version of Netscape.

What consenting adults do in private is no one’s business but theirs, and certainly not the concern of the government. If I’m not paying for it, why would I care who someone else marries? I’ve attended too many marriages that I thought were going to be a disaster, but I was only right half the time. Marriages are good for the economy. How can you be a capitalist and oppose anyone getting married?

I assumed when he wasn’t among the first batch of indictments, that Flynn was “assisting the police with their inquiries”. Trump isn’t going to help him with his legal bills, so he needs to go for the best deal he can, as soon as he can.

When Congress first asked Flynn to testify, his lawyer asked for total immunity, so Flynn knows he has legal liability. Mueller is looking at Flynn’s son and his business partner, so he is under a lot of pressure to be a cooperative witness.

Agree (Flynn). Trying to get the best deal he can. Good thing Mueller is hardball (I think anyway).

I thought I’d posted this link here in the older, longer thread about SGT La David Johnson. But Apparently I didn’t. Had a lot going on.

you may have seen this anyway, just found it to be refreshingly poignant & honest. Need more of this.

Gold Star Mom Delivers Epic Letter to Trump: ‘You Are a Dangerous Liar’

4 Kryten42 { 11.25.17 at 4:02 am }

Trump has been tweeting that he won the TIME’s Person of the Year award.

TIME magazine responded:

“The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.”

*sigh*

Trump has no loyalty to anyone or anything than himself. I’m not sure his children should assume he would give them a pardon. He is a soulless shell of a person.

The Time claim has generated a Twitter meme as sundry people claim they were selected for various honors, but were just too busy for the interview and photo shoot.

6 Kryten42 { 11.25.17 at 2:31 pm }

Well, you know how I feel about Doofus45! So I agree.

Now (as always) Dotard Donny changed his tweet:

“Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!”

The 1st reply was:

Please be Kaepernick.
Please be Kaepernick.
Please be Kaepernick.
Please be Kaepernick.
Please be Kaepernick.
Please be Kaepernick.

And someone followed up with a link to TIME voting site which doesn’t close until Dec. 3. And a whole bunch of people went to vote for Kaepernick. Some suggested it should be La David Johnson’s Mom.

I said “It should be President Obama. Because I want to see Dotard Donny’s head explode!

But yes, I’d vote for SGT La David Johnson or his Mom. At least he served & died with honor!”

Was that mean? 😉 😆

Latest news:

Mitch McConnell Melts Down, Admits Publicly He’s a Complete Failure

Oh, sorry… Did I say news?

Like Dotard Donny, he’s always been an inhuman looser. *shrug*

Here, I thought you may want a distraction! 😉 😀

F-35 radar system has bug that requires hard reboot in flight

It also currently only supports about half or so of the weapons loadout capability. 😆

From another source:

Though the futuristic fighter is suffering from an entire laundry list of defects, the US military has already sunk hundreds of billions of dollars into its development and, as such, is adamantly refusing any suggestion that the program ought to be scrapped.

“As a reminder, the F-35 program is still in its developmental phase. This is the time when issues are expected to be discovered and solutions are implemented to maximize the F-35’s capability for the warfighter,” USAF Lieutenant General Chris Bogdan, the officer overseeing the F-35 program, said last month. “While the developmental program is 80 percent complete, we recognize there are known deficiencies that must be corrected and there remains the potential for future findings. Our commitment to overcoming challenges is unwavering.”</i)

By the time it’s actually operational, it’ll be ready for EOL & the next phase project development program started. 😆

If Time went with Obama or Hillary you would probably be investigated by the Secret Service for inducing an aneurysm. 😈 Of the questions they are likely to ask would be of the “where’s a decent bar, and what are you drinking?” variety as they have to put up with the asshole 24-7.

Kaepernick was already picked by GQ [a US men’s fashion/lifestyle magazine], so Mrs. Johnson would be a great choice. As for Drumpf, getting elected by a fluke of the antique Presidential election process in the US was the last thing he has managed to do. The man screwed up the annual Easter egg roll, a kids party. He is supposedly in the hospitality business with hotels and resorts, but he can’t pull off a kids party! He hasn’t signed any legislation or filled jobs after firing their former occupants. Really a pathetic loser.

The Republicans don’t like and won’t vote for legislative leaders who will actually be able to get anything done. A significant number consider party affiliation as something they have to put up to get the power that makes them worth bribing. They don’t actually stand for anything and vote the way the interests who pay them most money want them to vote. Ryan in the House and McConnell in the Senate have nothing to offer their members that equals the money the members receive from special interests. Republicans know how to oppose, they have no idea how run a government.

Trump is a bigger loser than the F-35, but not by a whole lot. They are suffocating pilots again, so it’s time for plan gamma.

The Morris Animal Refuge got into the act on Twitter, with this:

Jangles says “The @HumaneSociety called to say that I was probably going to be named Cat of the Year, but I would have to agree to an interview & major photo shoot. I said probably is no good – I’m busy trying to get adopted & don’t have the @TIME. Thanks anyway! (Now adopt me!)”

Drumpf is being mocked with his own lies. Not exactly what you expect from a President, more in line with a used car salesman or a real estate broker 🙂
