BBC reports that Mugabe won’t go:
Zimbabwe’s embattled leader Robert Mugabe has vowed to stay in power for several weeks, despite intense pressure on him to stand down now.
In a live TV address, Mr Mugabe said he would preside over the ruling party’s congress in December.
The Zanu-PF earlier sacked him as party leader, and gave him less than 24 hours to resign as president or be impeached.
His grip on power has weakened since the military intervened on Wednesday, in a row over who should succeed him.
Weakened? Mugabe is under house arrest while the ruling party has ousted him and his wife. The capital is overloaded with people wanting Mugabe and his wife gone at a minimum. Hanging around is a very bad idea, as he has no hard guarantee that the military will protect him if he waits too long.

The media corporation that has the three largest newspapers in Alabama printed a front page editorial: Alabama voters must reject Roy Moore; we endorse Doug Jones for U.S. Senate.
It is time for Ol’ Roy to sit in a rocker on his porch and yell at the world, or get a gig at Fox News as their chaplain in residence, until one of the blondes file an harassment complaint.

The sad thing is that 80% of Republican voters in Alabama say they still plan to vote for Ole’ Roy.

Do you see why I say that outreach to Republicans is doomed to failure? Democrats need to concentrate on Democrats and independents. F*** Republicans, they’ve now proven once and for all that they’re the party of child molestors.
I have serious doubts about the existence of actual independents, but in any case, parties should be emphasizing turn out. The easiest way to get people to turn out is to get your base voters energized by standing for something other than a D or R after your name.
The reason the political machines in cities worked is because the parties took care of their voters. The current political parties don’t seem to understand that.

And yes, I agree Bryan. Same here. But ALP are still being mediocre fence sitters, though they have become somewhat more active recently. We’ll see.
We don’t vote for labels, we vote for people. If the person sucks and doesn’t support what we support, what’s the point voting for the label. The governor of Alabama admits she believes the women, but then says she’s voting for a child molester because the party needs his vote in Washington. What guarantee does she have that Moore is going to support the votes that are important to her?
The man twice took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and violated it twice. He refused to do his job 0n the Alabama Supreme Court, so why do people think he will do his job in the US Senate?
