Maximum sustained winds: 90 mph [150 kph].
Wind Gusts: 105 mph [170 kph].
Tropical Storm Wind Radius: 195 miles [315 km].
Hurricane Wind Radius: 80 miles [130 km].
Minimum central pressure: 956 mb ↑.

Currently about 60 miles [ 95 km] East-Southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina.

While the sustained wind speed is dropping, the storm is slowing down, going over warmer water nearer the coast, and the pressure is dropping. There is time for some intensification, but more importantly for higher storm surge and more rain. It isn’t the wind, it’s the water that causes the most destruction.

A Hurricane Warning is in effect for South Santee River, South Carolina to Duck, North Carolina; Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for North of Duck, North Carolina to Cape Charles Light, Virginia; Chesapeake Bay south of New Point Comfort; Edisto Beach, South Carolina to South Santee River, South Carolina.

A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for South Santee River, South Carolina to Duck, North Carolina; Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds, including the Neuse and Pamlico Rivers.

A Hurricane Watch is in effect from Edisto Beach, South Carolina northward to South Santee River, South Carolina.

A Storm Surge Watch is in effect from Edisto Beach, South Carolina northward to South Santee River, South Carolina.
