“It ain’t over ’til it’s over”

We are going to have automatic recounts in both the race for governor and for Senator in Florida. Mail-in ballots from foreign countries are accepted until the 16th at least. With over 8 million ballots cast the opponents are separated by around 20,000 votes in each race. People need to chill out and wait.

It’s the same for the governor’s race in Georgia and the Senate race in Nevada. Relax, this is not microwave popcorn, there is plenty of time.

This thread just appeared on my Twitter timeline by Grant Stern regarding shenanigans by Rick Scott. In summary:

He violated the Sunshine Law to fire the head of the FDLE.

He forbade “climate change” to be said at the Department of “Environmental Protection”

Now he’s sending the FDLE to elections supervisors of his OWN election

https://twitter.com/grantstern/status/1060712967048716288

Grant sent a public record request under #Florda statute 119 and Art 1, Sec. 24 of the state constitution & posted the details in the above thread.

And… just because we all need some comic relief! Even if @ our own expense (Homo Sapiens):

A Flat Earther has claimed that the Earth is shaped like a doughnut. Yes, really

I lost an old friend in an attack yesterday in Melbourne. Sisto Malaspina was truly an icon! He owned & ran a great Italian restaurant called Peligrini’s for decades in the street of icons, Lygon St. in Carlton. I had my office there when I worked for Apple from 2004-2007. I spent a lot of time at Pelegrini’s. A very sad day. I knew some of the staff, most of whom had been there decades also! He looked after everyone. If I were still living in Melb. I’d be there mourning with them.

THE staff of an iconic Melbourne cafe are in mourning today after a veteran of Melbourne’s cafe culture has been named as the victim of Friday’s brutal stabbing attack in the CBD

Humans truly do disgust me. The good ones I have met, do not make up for the many bad ones I’ve heard about or met personally. Even the fact I got to remove some of them, doesn’t help. There’s always at least a dozen more for every one!

I’m so sorry for your loss, Kryten.

I saw the videos from the attack and it appeared that Mr. Malaspina was rushing towards the truck on fire to see if he could help when he was attacked and killed. It’s a damn shame. Yeah, there’s always another schmuck to fill any vacancy you create.

Scott didn’t file any charges with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement [FDLE], nor did he file any law suits. That was more bovine excrement for the peasants. We have to wait until at the least the 16th for mail ballots from overseas. Those are heavily populated counties, so there are more votes to count and a higher than normal turn out. The jobs aren’t official until January, so there is no rush.

Sisto was a good man. We had fun swapping stories of our Italian families. He’d correct my Italian & I’d correct his English, which he ignored. (Actually, his English was good, but he had mastered the art of what most English speakers that know no other language, think Italians sound like. Mostly from old American movies.) It was his private joke. He had a good sense of Humor. Some nights, when it was late didn’t feel like going home, I’d wait after dinner intil everyone else had left and he’d close up & we’d share stories over a good coffee & real tiramisu or some other Italian desert. I’d help clean up the Kitchen while we chatted, he’d offer to pay me something & I’d ignore him & he’d grin. 🤗

Anyway… Seems Dotard is doing his usual BS Of sticking his ignorant nose in where it should be chopped off.

Trump makes baseless ‘infected’ ballot claims amid Florida recount

He also preened when he received a 👍🏾 from his master in France. If he had a tail, it’d be wagging furiously! When a picture truly is worth a thousand words:

Warm exchange between Trump and Putin at armistice ceremony

It looks like they are going to name a street or ‘lane’ [I assume that has a special Australian meaning] for him in Melbourne. That the city politicians moved so quickly is definitely an indicator of the deep regard the community had for him. The only road that would be named for Trump by anyone but Trump would be to a landfill or sewage treatment plant.

I’m going to post on the election and Trump’s conduct in France.

8 Badtux { 11.13.18 at 12:48 am }

It’d be an insult to the sewage plant to name it after Trump.

9 Bryan { 11.13.18 at 12:25 pm }

Not the plant, only the road/driveway to the plant 😈

10 Badtux { 11.13.18 at 1:43 pm }

Why do you hate a perfectly good driveway? 🙂

11 Bryan { 11.14.18 at 9:28 am }

Down here they are red clay and rutted going to landfills and sewage plants – they sort of resemble him 😈

12 Badtux { 11.15.18 at 12:56 am }

Yeah, but driveways are useful. Unlike Cheeto.

Sisto’s Funeral was today. He would have approved. The family were overwhelmed by how much he was loved by so many. It will take me some time to really deal with this.

The New Daily had a great tribute & coverage of the Funeral. I’m proud to have known him. Just the headline alone is so apt.

Sisto, the man who was intrinsically ‘Melbourne’

15 Bryan { 11.20.18 at 9:26 pm }

The BBC also covered his funeral. He had to have been an amazing to person to rate a state funeral that was covered on the other side of the world. Everyone who was anyone in or around Melbourne seems to have been to his coffee shop.
