I have been spending my time working on an irrigation system. The time has been split between actual plumbing and locating parts. The basic problem was figuring out why the pump wouldn’t hold its prime. I’m dealing with people who think it’s an imposition to go to the pump house to turn it on. Priming the pump was totally beyond their skill set.

While I have noticed that the current Resident of 1600 PA Ave. continues to violate norms and laws, there’s not much point in commenting if the House refuses to begin impeachment proceedings.

In sports news Chris Froome:

Britain’s four-time Tour de France champion, 34, suffered a fractured right femur, a broken hip, a fractured elbow and fractured ribs and lost consciousness following the crash.

They discovered later that he also had a neck fracture, so he won’t be attempting to win his fifth Yellow Jersey next month.

We are also in the middle of FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The US is the defending champion. The “usual suspects” are playing well and advancing. The US, Canada, England, Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, and Sweden are already through to the knock-out round of 16.

The women play a better game than the men – more skill and less muscle.

“The women play a better game than the men – more skill and less muscle.” Agreed! I feel this is also true in Tennis.

The other way that the games differ is that the women don’t “dive” or fake injuries to draw penalties as is all too common in the men’s game.

It’s true here in AU as well. I much prefer to watch the women’s teams play now & have for some years. They play seriously & with skill. The men are afraid their hair will get mussed & miss out on a lucrative advertising gig.

Of course, the misogynist menfolk running sports in AU are peeved because many Aussies are doing the same as I, so their prissy men sporting events revenues are declining & women’s are increasing. As with everything in this World, it’s always about the $$$$$ & the manly feelings! Awwww… 👿🤬

The Women have even managed to put AU cricket in the news again. Whilst the men fail miserably. AU Women are topping the ICC rankings & are doing well. Same for AFL Football, Soccer, Basketball… etc.

I’m hoping Sophie Molineux will be fit to play in the Ashes in July. She underwent surgery for her right shoulder after severely dislocating it in March. That happened to me in Baseball as a teen long ago. It’s not fun! Anyway, seems her fitness training is going well & is on track. It’s not her bowling that will be the problem, but the fielding! Especially as the women put in 100% and will dive hard to catch the ball! She’s damned tough & determined!👍🏾😊

Sam Kerr is one of, if not the best in the world. The Matildas are simply a better team than the Socceroos. It’s not accidental that they are promoting a signed Matilda’s jersey on the Socceroo’s web site.

My guess is that the women’s sports programs spend more time on the fundamentals, i.e. the coaches really teach the basic skills. On the Men’s side it looks like a lot of assumed knowledge, that the new kids already know about the basic skills. I think there are too many guys who spent too much time trying to put spin on the ball like Beckham, and not enough time learning to pass and dribble. Women tend to be team players, while most guys want to be “stars”.

Yeah, though Sam wasn’t really on her game. Still, the USA’s gain is AU’s loss. 😉 🙂

But Ash Barty certainly was on her game! From #325 in 2016, #17 in 2017, and now World #1! That’s astonishing by any standard. And well deserved. 😀

The heat and injuries started to get to people. The US is having to depend on Megan Repinoe because Alex Morgan is at 100%. They have to keep enough healthy people to put a side on the pitch.

More people need to see if a cricket break would help them with their tennis game. Again the women are playing the game while the men are posing.
