Her purring send tremors through your body, her normal “meow” is operatic, she has a convincing “roar”, and a “growl”.

Lady Fortuna makes a “brre” noise when I pet her, sometimes. I was afraid I would have a noisy cat with Rocky Girl because, when I first got her, she meowed constantly. Eat, meow. Take a dump, meow. Go to bed, meow. I finally figured out that she was trying to find her brothers, but they were still at the foster home.

That’s it, LK, the “mur, mur, mur” instead of “maow”.

Koshka used to do exactly the same thing, Andante. Sitting on a window sill, wanting a piece of one of the blue jays in the backyard.

Strange to hear such dainty little sounds from such a big fat cat.

Groooaaaan! Could you perhaps capture and post a small audio file of Ringo’s mutterings? Tabitha utters a wide assortment of syllables, but they’re all variants of “mao”; Samantha emits only one very brief, very soft sound in greeting, and rarely speaks otherwise. I’m curious about the notion of a cat that chirps or mutters.

Korat she may be, but Ringo is a true American cat if she manifests hatred of, and anger at, taxes. Goodness knows I did some muttering myself a couple of weeks ago.
