An old pun, but a good one, and a splendid rendering.
In the version of this pun that I first heard, the holiday commemorated a naval battle in which Mexico successfully prevented the delivery of a shipload of a certain foreign condiment.
Perhaps I should re-stage it in my Mother’s pond.
I might not have gotten it, except a fella was telling us about some website that had some story line telling about the Titanic carrying a load of Mayo for Mexico which sunk.
I got it on my third visit because I don’t normally use the shorter form, after all, mayonnaise in a major food group in the South.
We are quite flattered by the attention. Thank you.
And a mind…yes…once in a while all the circuits seem to fire in the proper sequence.
