The trailer, um, I mean, the laptop, combined with a wireless router, merely allows me to move a few dozen feet so I can actually feel the breeze. I could also work from the public library, were it not for security considerations… their public wireless network is unsecured. (Mine uses the very latest encryption.) But I can certainly blog and write blog comments. Everyone already knows what I’m going to say anyway. 🙂

And now it’s getting too dark to see the keyboard… time to shut it down and enjoy the breeze. Bye for now! 🙂

Sounds good, Andante, if you don’t know about Rita, Ivan, and other small annoyances along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

I try not to blog in or near large bodies of water, especially those in or around my house.

Yeah, throwing people to his crocodiles trumps Dubya, though I could make a case for all the kids sent into harm’s way in Iraq without proper equipment. But there’s still a connection, if you like – Amin was provided sanctuary by the good Bush family friends, the Saudis.

Steve, you notice I studiously ignored your comment about poolside blogging? Oughtta be a law. But before you get too complacent – my sister has you beat. Once the pool she belongs to opens, she will be telecommuting from poolside.

I need a job like that.

Umm, do you want to limit it to US Presidents, Andante? I mean there have been some real pieces of work in Asia and Africa.

Nixon used to be the bottom, but he actually did function as an effective President, not good, but effective. The government did its job. Nixon’s problems were essentially political as were the crimes.

Clinton’s personal life, whatever one may think of it, was simply not significant to his performance of his duties as President. Bush’s lies go to the heart of those duties. IMHO that makes Bush the more egregious liar.

Not to mention (which I will, as andante has already done so) that unlike some Republican members of Congress, Clinton never had to pay for sex. We don’t know at this point whether Dubya has this problem, and I care about it only if it gives us a handle for impeaching him… as lies about everything important seem not to be enough for Congress.

During Clinton’s term, I seldom thought I’d miss him when he was out of office… he’s not the same kind of Democrat that I am. But I was wrong. Compared to the Dubya bAdmin (thanks, Karen, for the term), I long for the days of Clinton.

(OT, this is my first comment posted from poolside. It’s a sunny day; I’m in the shade, and there’s a soft breeze. I could learn to like this.)
