I would think that your host is filtering a lot of it, but I’m hosting my own site so I have to deal with it myself.

Oh, programmers don’t trust users, that’s why we automatically add the confirmation to everything.

But I’ve noticed the spam count has gone WAY up on all of my e-mail accounts except the one at work (probably because the university has a spam filter at the internet gateway that intercepts most of it before it actually lands in my junk mail folder or my inbox). Used to be, I could count on something like 20 “bulk” or “junk” e-mails on my Yahoo! account first thing in the morning. Nowadays, it’s more like 60. Sunday afternoon, when I finally got logged in for the first time since Saturday night, I had more than 150. Used to be, I’d actually look at the bulk e-mails before deleting, on the off chance that something I actually wanted or needed to see was in there by mistake. Now, I just hit “empty.”

(Oh, and note to the folks at Yahoo! Would you please, for the love of God, get rid of that stupid confirmation script? Yes, I know that emptying the bulk mail folder will permanently delete all the crap therein. That’s why I pushed the freakin’ button in the first place.)
