The steering feature north of Florence is predicted to move off. That will determine how far West the storm goes. We are getting better on the internals of hurricanes, but have a lot to learn about the ridges that steer them.

Based on the current projection, it looks as if Florence is headed well north of either of us. Andante and Screwy Hoolie may want to keep an eye out. I just hope the NHC didn’t name Florence after Florence Foster Jenkins, once a veritable storm in herself, and best avoided if possible.
