I remember my carefree days in Rochester, NY and San Diego when it was someone else’s problem, but it wasn’t as cheap as living on the Gulf Coast when there are no hurricanes.

The trees hold the water and the soil in place, I hope you get some worthy of raking soon, Karen.

These days I would just put the mulch plate on the mower. All we ever did with leaves in New York was to cover the flower beds for the winter, Andante. They do make excellent compost.

I keep telling myself fallen leaves are GOOD for the grass, which explains why I have such a crappy lawn.

I’ve got enough rakes…but barely enough leaves from these twigs planted in my yard to even make a decent pile-o-leaves.

And what with the WIND on this Windy Prairie – most of them blow away before I need to get to raking. Lucky ME!
