Lilith and Divageek both fit right in with Maru’s sense of the absurd.

I grabbed a 17″ Samsung LCD because that was the most reasonable monitor available locally with a brand name I recognized. We have an Office Depot and Circuit City located next to each other, but it’s a drive. I used it as “plug and play” to get done what I needed and have been tweaking it ever since.

The monitor on “my absolutely necessary, have to use it today to get a project out this afternoon” computer decided it didn’t want to continue to shine on the world this morning.

Oops. At least that’s a replacement one can easily buy and plug in; it’s not like a hard drive. That doesn’t help when you’re facing a deadline, though. And I often forget that you’re not in a big city, where a new monitor is as close as the nearest Office Depot, Office Max, Circuit City, Micro Center, …
