That miserable “Duke” Cunningham is sitting in prison right now drawing his military and Congressional pensions, and we are supposed to be thrilled. Osama bin Laden is still free and apparently getting better medial care than millions of Americans, but we are supposed to be satisfied with our government.

I am not a happy camper.

I’m inclined to agree with George Mitchell when he said (quoting from memory; please forgive minor inaccuracies), “Although He is often asked to do so, God does not take sides in American politics.” But I am confident in praying for a just outcome, and equally confident that Dennis Hastert and John Boehner will not like that outcome if it comes to pass.

Heads should roll, from Hastert on down. And if there’s a just and loving God in heaven, the Republicans won’t hold a single seat in Congress next year.
