They have had more equipment failures in the last six-months than I have encountered with all of my clients in a decade. I’m wondering about their local power grid.

I think Iraq is still occasionally mentioned in the media, but I get my news from international sites, so maybe not “officially.”

Are we still in Iraq?

I’m glad it’s not just an anomaly here, but it looks serious because of the length of the outage. It’s an awfully quiet Saturday night without the Blogger bloggers.

A few Blogger sites appear to be visible. I could see Fallenmonk; I could see Atrios. But many, many sites are invisible. The sites appear to begin to serve as usual, but somewhere in the middle of the process, they hang, and never finish. Even http://www.blogger.com itself is invisible here.

This close to elections, I cannot help entertaining conspiracy theories. I doubt that’s the cause, but I can’t rule it out. Would the nuts shut down friendly sites in the interest of shutting down hostiles? You must answer that for yourself. Could the wingers competently shut down the ‘sphere if they wanted to? Well, that’s another question, and I can’t answer that one either.

Or maybe it’s that agency I wrote doggerel about, the one for which “no one knows its acronym…”
