Jack, I think that’s what Beta is all about, a newer and better system, but they are having to keep the old system afloat while they completely test the new one.

I’m sitting here tonight fully capable of getting into my own site – which I took a deep breath and converted to Beta a number of weeks ago – but equally fully incapable of opening about half a dozen of my usual reads like Atrios, skippy, Loaded Orygun, and others who haven’t made the switch yet. Whether it’s a scheme by Blogger High Command is a toss-up, but you wouldn’t think they would be so ham-handed when other free hosts like WordPress are sitting there ready to eat their lunch…

It is very likely that it is still out there but that Firefox can’t find it. That happened to me once, and I was able to retrieve the profile.

It’s a shame about Blogger. Do you suppose this is extra “motivation” for people to switch to the new version?
