Lots Of Things Going On Today

I have a long rant in progress, but it has to wait until tomorrow, as Dot want to lay on the keyboard, the kittens want to chew my shoes, things needed tending to outside, there is a new vehicle decision being made, but most importantly, it is impossible to get a decent reservation for Mother’s Day, so I took my Mother out to dinner tonight.

I would like to say thanks to my brother who sent the plants that I will have to dig holes for and tend. Nice, really nice. If they do well, he gets the credit, but if they wither and die, it’s my fault. What, they have no flowers in California?

Lol!! Aw, c’mon. It’s the thought that counts…. sorta.

My husband and I have quit going anywhere on Mother’s Day. Restaurants are a disaster and the wait is horrific. Besides, why should I let Hallmark tell me when I get acknowledgement? I get that all year ’round.

May the plants grow spendidly without effort! (Just make sure your mother sees you working really hard on her behalf….)

Down here the best places to actually eat are closed on Sunday. They are locally owned and operated by families who need a day a week out of the business, and Sunday is that day.

My brother has done this to me before with mixed results. The latest attempt are dwarf double azaleas, so they might survive is I can find some shade for them that’s still in the irrigation pattern. Azaleas are drought hardy after they are established, but they need drowning the first year. It’s a deep hole that’s backfilled to encourage deep roots.
