We needed 500K troops to do the job when we invaded, and it would take a million to do the job at this point.

The ammo dumps we couldn’t secure should have been blown up, because they are supplying the tools for the current death. The whole country is awash in weapons, so there is no way of stopping the violence.

There is nothing a residual force could do at this point, the whole thing has gone too far. The best we can do is remove one of the excuses for the violence – our presence.

The fact is we cannot stop people from dying in Iraq, we can only exacerbate the situation by a continued hostile occupation.
