There isn’t any clearer demonstration than her performance that the only talking point the White House has left is “it’s all Al Qaeda and they’re all coming to kill us”. I thought he did an excellent job of repeatedly and pointedly asking her about the obvious inconsistencies between that last remaining talking point and the real facts of life, including an administration intelligence official saying that Al Qaeda didn’t even exist in Iraq before we invaded. It was an interesting performance watching her refuse to answer the specifics of his questions in the most lame, ham-handed fashion possible. If this is the Bush-era “Best and Brightest”, we are truly screwed…
