It is a very old song indeed, Steve, but that is a version I remember from my youth and the Joan Baez version didn’t work as well.

The Blind Boys of Alabama do a version of Amazing Grace to the tune of the House of the Rising Sun that works wonderfully, especially if you know the tune.

"It was Eric Burdon and the Animals doing The House of the Rising Sun," ... well, that, but with the voices mostly removed so you can use the video for karaoke. I remember those guys; they could sing louder than that. Unless I'm mistaken, the song itself is much older than those youths were when they recorded it.

It was Eric Burdon and the Animals doing The House of the Rising Sun, Jack, perhaps the oldest and certainly the best known song about New Orleans bordellos around.

She certainly made a lot of men cross their legs, especially after the jury released her.

Hippiarchia, they started on the Mod side of British Invasion and then shifted to Rocker with the Stones, but they all had Prince Valiant haircuts.
