They do like it when the doors are open and they can hear outside as well as see it, but the computers keep that down to about a month in the Spring and Fall.
]]>Moi, it’s 80° in here and she’s currently snuggled up to the fax.
Yes, Andante, that’s the “break of day” of my crew, when they all decide to race around playing tag, not that I would expect Trouble to do a lot of racing.
]]>I do miss them. I have a little 7yo Jack Russel Terrier now, and she’s good company (and I can take her on my long walks for exercise). But I prefer cats. 🙂 I actually had a really cheeky cat once who would walk out with me when I used to go jogging, and wait at the corner of the street for my eventual return, then follow me home at her usual leisurely pace! LOL
When I had the Siamese, I attended a Trade mission. I met a Chinese delegate who bred them and he regaled me with stories and the history of the. 🙂 He said the pair I had (when I described them and showed a picture I had) were a special breed bred from ancient *Temple Cats*. They used to guard the old Temples (which were also banks in those days). He said (and I don’t know if this is true) that that is where the term *cat walk* originally came from, as the temples had a ledge up near the ceiling around the walls the cats would prowl silently around on. The cats knew the Temple priests, and would leave people alone when the priests were around during the day. At night, anyone trying to sneak in would get a very nasty, but brief, surprise! I had wondered, because the pair I had were bigger and stronger than normal Siamese I’d seen, and had longer claws when they extended. The pair were also unusually quiet. And they were VERY territorial! Whenever someone they didn’t know came to the house, they would stand near me when I opened the door and stare intently at the visitor with their tails swishing side to side and follow closely if I let the person in. Eventually, they would move off after decided the intruder wasn’t going to try to kill me I guess. LOL They shook up a few people! 😉 They loved my mom, and she loved them. They didn’t like my dad, which proves cat’s are very discerning and intelligent. 😀 Oh, and they also didn’t like the landlord! LOL Probably because I couldn’t stand the crook.
If I ever get a place of my own again, I’ll get a cat. 🙂
]]>I would point out that in the picture she is right under the AC. If she would go to another room it would be warmer, but that’s where she wants to be.
]]>Hence the expression “Siamese twins…” 🙂
One really does miss them when they’re gone. Sigh.
]]>I had a cat years ago who also hated the A/C. Her fave spot was in direct line with the airflow from the main vent. LOL Cat’s are sooooooooooooo fussy!
She was a purebred sealpoint siamese, I got her and her brother. They NEVER stayed apart! I used to have a big beanbag covered in corduroy and would often lay on it and relax with my fave music. One would snuggle under my left arm, and the other under my right! LOL And if I moved a muscle… Siamese have SHARP claws!!
Damned cats! 😉 LOL
I miss them. 😐
