Barbara Boxer is also there, Jill, but Feinstein isn’t, and she voted against the original Senate version of this bill.
It was 54%, a majority of Democrats, in the House, Jim, but the top 4 members of the leadership voted for it. It’s time for a change in the House leadership.
]]>I note that 44% of Democrats in the House voted against the bill, and 31% of Democrats in the Senate voted against the bill.
I had hoped for more, of course.
As you say, we need to channel our votes and money to support those who stand up for our rights. We need to do this both individually and collectively. And, as you say, we need to be vocal about why we give our support where we do and why we withold it where we don’t.
(I am fortunate in that I am represented by Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, and Barney Frank, people who–despite some disagreements–I am comfortable supporting.)
