Those are all artists that I bought and listened to when I was gainfully employed. Some of the songs were necessarily by favorites, but they are well known examples and available on the site with studio recordings. I listen to music, I don’t watch it.

They are pretty much in chronological order.

There were songs I would have chosen were messed up in recording with the beginning or end clipped off.

wonderful collection! bracketed by two of my favorites no less.

i think i’ve now got on cd everything that patsy cline ever recorded. if not, i’m almost there.

The thing is, they might make music like this today, but you’ll never hear on the radio or the music television channels which have been limited to a commercial subset of the available artists. You have to seek the music out on your own using the Internet.

At one time or another I heard all of the songs on this list on Armed Forces radio around the world after they broke away from the country mold.
