I would assume it was on the off chance that what ever was in the bag might taste better than the exact same food in the two bowls.

Ha. Those kitties know when they’re hungry. I usually keep a extra bag of cat food in the spare room. The kitties have food in two places. Why did someone (probably Cotton) decide to slice open the extra bag in the spare room?

Yep, same “con” as the so-called Baptists run down the block. Get real – it’s little kids in costumes carrying plastic pumpkins, but it has nothing to do with Halloween – yeah, right.

OT: I’ve had my own computer problems lately, good luck with them. I have known a number of people who have undergone chemo, so I know things like sitting up can be a problem, so I hold my worries somewhat at bay.

All the kiddies around here either go to a “Hallelujah Festival” or to a more populous/affluent neighborhood up the road. Suits me – in my best old geezer fashion, I just turn off our outside lights. Get off my lawn!

Rather expensive “fish treats”. This Spring I will put more goldfish in my Mother’s pond. They grow to 8” quickly, and then get eaten by herons or raccoons. She keeps talking about putting koi in there, but that’s some pretty pricey raccoon food.

You have to wonder how Betas manage to survive with their Cheneyesque attitude towards just about anything else with fins and especially other Betas.

I did have a Beta once… years ago. He was not a very social fish.

I have a 45 gallon community tank (no cichlids or other meanies) with a sturdy lid so they have trouble jumping out. Although a few have managed to do it. And yes they will eat the weakest or smallest fish. They don’t have to be underfed to do so either! I added some neon tetras … once… and the community thought I had provided them with a live treat. Poor little neons spent a lot of time hiding in the grasses.

They are wonderful on a cold night, but the vinyl in that kitchen is a shock to your bare feet, and the kibble is hard. They could have had a snack from the girls’ bowl, but that “isn’t done”.

You obviously have never had a Beta, Lady Min, which are prone to suicide leaps out of the bowl for no one knows what reason. I fish sit for a friend when he heads off to Mississippi and he has a couple of fish I wouldn’t like to meet on a dark night, and that doesn’t include the algae eater. I have a feeling that if you don’t put the food in on time there will be fewer fish in the tank.

No kiddies came to mydoor either. Perhaps the fact that I get home from work at 6pm and live on a busy street had something to do with it. Nevertheless, I purchased 3 bags of that wonderful individually wrapped junk in case some of them stopped by. Little Snicker Bars aren’t too bad!

My tropical fish hover at the top of the their tank to let me know they’re hungry. However, they are easy to ignore as they can’t get out to get into the TetraMin. Heh.

Ah yes, the starving savages strike! My two are whining around my feet for me to feed them, even though they still have some kibble in their bowl. But the kibble in their bowl is yesterday’s kibble, so it isn’t good enough for them apparently. Sigh. Cats. But what can you do? So I’ll go feed them some of this $28-per-bag food that is all that Mencken’s sour disposition and sour stomach can handle, and then as usual they’ll join me in bed tonight and snuggle up against me and purr. They got my number, alright…
