Fortunately there are very few political signs to pick up along the roadways. This was a good turnout for the election in the county, but you could hardly tell there was an election going on as there were almost no signs and no one doing visibility events along the roads.

Maybe the key is not to advertise.

A plunger involves a stick that is quite similar to a police baton. I don’t think it was a good idea to have a lot of people standing in long lines carrying nightsticks.

Somebody said that a case of “election interference” in south Florida turned to be a drunk who hit a power pole. The election equipment didn’t work – OMG – call the media! A lot of people have been on edge.

Things are a bit crazy here, and the poll worker may have been a bit sensitized by another incident: A Republican county commissioner tried to get people to show up at the polls carrying a plumber’s friend. As with the incident you describe, before it was over, the county chairs of both major parties got involved.

The plumber’s friends were disallowed. I told Stella they could just as well have been a symbol of cleaning up a government so bad it wouldn’t even go down the toilet…
