Just don’t get caught in the LA River when it rains in the mountains. Most people have seen dozens of car chases in the river bed and don’t have any idea that it is a river, as most of the time it looks like an empty freeway with a gutter in the center.

I just have to run out in the first big rain. Living in Los Angeles, it is such a rare event. I miss it.

While you will get wet, Florida will disappear almost to it’s northern border, but Al Gore needs to be on a diet.

The hip waders will come in handy when the ice caps melt and our little town, most of which is just barely above sea level, will be…well…back to it’s natural “swamp” like existence.

My favorite named street in town is Salsipuedes…which literally means “Get Out if You Can” as when the rains came the area would turn to quicksandish mud.
