The “tannenbaum” [fir tree] is part of the Solstice celebration of Germanic peoples that pre-dates Christmas by a lot of years.

Of course, there are a lot of Jews named Tannenbaum, so that could be source of the confusion, i.e. “Use the Tannenbaum’s card”.

Rove is no longer in the White House, so this is a bit too clever an insult for the last gasp crowd to have knowingly made. It didn’t feature a crèche, so it must be secular.

"White House sends out Christmas-themed Hanukkah invitations" Accident, MFA. That was no accident. Remember who GeeDubya's base is. OTOH, considering the "Christmas" tree may predate Christmas, maybe it's just a typical Bush f^@kup rather than a calculated anti-Semitic insult.

OK. I won't mention Palin & turkeys then. ;) LOL Seems the Bushmoron White house is getting into that 'Happy Whatever' spirit also... they seem to be confused between Christmas and Hanukkah.
