]]>Steele is probably the only person on the planet, CK, who doesn’t realize that he is a token. He should do a credible job at the RNC as he is not an incompetent, like some of the others who were running, and he has some decent, related experience. He will, of course, be the scapegoat for any future disaster, and get no credit for any success.
I have been following things on the ABC site, Kryten, and I know that I don’t want any part of them, although we are better equipped to handle them than you are, with our infrastructure designed for temperatures like that.
I have some relatives in and they are complaining about the cold weather around Atlanta, and they are used to much colder weather than we are. Things are just screwed up all over, and it is past time to start adapting to the new realities, because the trends are going to continue.
]]>Now the GOP have what… 4 or 5 people who represent *minorities*? LOL Big of them. 🙂
I notice some GOPpers are saying whet they think voters want to hear (as always). Hopefully, most voters know that when it comes to the GOP (and politicians generally) talk isn’t worth a sheet of toilet paper.
WASHINGTON — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell did not mince words on the outlook for the GOP during his address to the Republican National Committee’s annual meeting on Thursday.
The “path forward” for the Republican Party is rocky.
“We’re all concerned about the fact that the very wealthy and the very poor, the most and least educated, and a majority of minority voters, seem to have more or less stopped paying attention to us. And we should be concerned that, as a result of all this, the Republican Party seems to be slipping into a position of being more of a regional party than a national one,” McConnell told the gathering.
“In politics, there’s a name for a regional party: it’s called a minority party. And I didn’t sign up to be a member of a regional party . . . As Republicans, we know that common-sense conservative principles aren’t regional. But I think we have to admit what our sales job has been poor. And in my view, that needs to change.”
Aha. 😉
And you can see who much the GOP loves them some black people, because they still think that whole “Obama, the Magic Negro” Christmas thing is funny and don’t see what the problem is. 🙂
Of course, when you have someone like Rush Limburger as the new face and voice of the GOP, that should tell anyone, even conservatives, who have more than one operating brain cell, that the GOP stand for nothing but bigotry, greed, ideology (including that the wealthy are the masters and everyone else are the serf’s), and not to mention, ignorance and hypocrisy. If that what people agree with, they can join the Gang Of Perverts. 🙂 Just tattoo a perverted red elephant on all their foreheads. I mean, since they love symbols so much you know. Then they can feel completely comfortable that they are only dealing with *one of them*. And the rest of the sane people can point and laugh or whatever they feel like. 🙂 Or maybe tattoo Limburger’s face (or ass, I’m sure they look the same. He is of course two-faced, he’s a GOP). LOL
Oh well…
This was interesting also, at C&L. Hmmm.
Obama eyeing GOP Senator Judd Gregg for Commerce Sec.?
SilentPatriot commented:
If the speculation is true and Gregg accepts, Democratic NH Governor John Lynch would get to fill the seat. This means, of course, that once Norm Coleman acknowledges defeat and Senator Al Franken is sworn in, the Dems would reach super-majority status and render meaningless the entire Republican Party. The best part: Obama would score some useful “bipartisan” points, even after getting slapped in the face by the entire GOP House caucus. How’s that for some brilliant political maneuvering? This is defintely one to keep an eye on.
… render meaningless the entire Republican Party …
This is a comment (or similar comment) that I’ve heard time and again, mainly from *Liberals*. It shows to me that many don’t really understand the GOP and the people who control the Republican party. They are not just going to roll over and die. The GOP love to work behind the scenes and in secret. It’s a dangerous belief to have that the GOP are beaten. They won’t be beaten until the lot of them are in prison or dead. *shrug* I wouldn’t bet on that much.
I was going to make a few more points, but I’m worn out from the past week’s heatwave. 🙂 It’s much better today thankfully. We had some nasty fires and lost power to a third of the state, and almost had the main State power distribution line cut by fires. That was narrowly avoided. Several people died from heat stroke and associated problems. The rail system collapsed and the power system was overloaded. But idiots here (including the State Gov) are saying it was a one in a million fluke event. I bet the Insurance companies don’t think so! Stupid.
