Let’s not push our dreams too far, Andante. The Republicans wouldn’t give Roger Taney or Ronald Reagan, if either was alive and nominated by Obama, a vote until after they had stalled forever.

They have no intention of allowing anything they can stall to get done.

The torture memos showed us what “intricate legal reasoning” can produce, so how about someone who assumes that laws mean what they say.

The group that wrote the Constitution didn’t like corporations or political parties, so the decisions based on that Constitution should reflect that “original intent”.

Ginsburg and Breyer are the only two appointed by a Democratic President. The most “liberal”, Stevens, was appointed by Gerald Ford.

I made that point in my earlier post, and have referred to the 5 of them as the Synod.

Souter is only Episcopalian, and Stevens the only “Protestant” on the court.

They really are an inbred group.
