Dot is officially known as “6” and Sox as “7” on their vet records, as I paid to have them fixed 8 months before I ended up taking them to my house because their original owner got into major financial trouble and had to give them up.
They respond the same way to either – not at all.

]]>You aren’t confused, I was involved with replacing my Mother’s AC and misidentified him, Hipparchia. He is the eldest, Income, and Property is the grrrl. Since they don’t actually respond to names, I don’t get a lot practice attaching labels to them. I’m claiming a senior moment.
]]>oh yes. yes they’re a surprise when they land on you while you’re sleeping, but an even bigger surprise is when six of them who were sleeping on you [to stay warm in cold weather] suddenly wake up and take off into a catfit.

That’s those things my two do from time to time while I’m trying to sleep, where it sounds like a herd of elephants thumping through my apartment, usually culminating in a couple of fur brains jumping off the top of the book-case onto the bed — i.e., 15+ pounds of fat cat landing on *ME*. Ooof!
