Some of the doubters fried their brains during the 1960s, but most are just in need of chemicals to be able to tell the difference between trees and people. The real problem is that all of them are allowed to vote which is how we end up with some of our Congresscritters.

It’s hard to know if you should laugh or cry.

Armstrong caused something of a panic because he wanted to leave early and the scopes wouldn’t have been in position to *see* or hear anything as the moon would have been out of range of all three tracking stations here and in CA. LOL Luckily, Buzz Aldrin manages to delay Neil several hours, and the rest… is history. Officially, Buzz and Armstrong took several hours to prepare, but that’s not what was in the *official* classified reports. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think Armstrong was a bit keen (and who can blame him!) ๐Ÿ˜†

Look, seriously… I don’t trust the US Gov (or my own Gov for that matter) an inch! And I know for a fact that both (and many others) have had many things to cover up! But anyone with more than two brain cells would know it would have been impossible to fake this mission! There would have been thousands of people all around the globe (including Russia, who at that time wouldn’t agree on a single thing with America for any reason), would have to have been a part of the conspiracy and have to have kept it all quiet for decades. It could never happen, period! I love a good conspiracy as much as anyone, when it’s based on some provable facts, but this is worse than wishful thinking. Morons.

That would have required missile launches that would have to be announced in advance to avoid starting a nuclear war, and if you had the capability of placing a payload on the moon with that kind of accuracy, you had 90% of what was needed to get a man there and back, so the whole concept of faking it is just stupid.

It’s not like every optical telescope on the planet wasn’t watch the flight from the launch, whenever possible.

No problem at all! I like to help out if/when I can. If there’s anything else I can do, just put an OT message in a comment and I’ll see what I can do. ๐Ÿ™‚ (OT is ‘Off Topic’ BTW, in case you’re not sure. I’ve been in AcronymLand (IT) for far too long, and don’t like to make assumptions!) ๐Ÿ˜€

Did any of those links help with your font issues? I have a friend who’s a lot more of an Ubuntu/notebook specialist/guru than I am. I can ask. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m more of a server Sys Admin/Security type.

Good luck. ๐Ÿ™‚

I remember the landing too. My grandfather was very keen about the whole mission. And, for the record, I know for a ‘highly researched and documented’ fact that it was *NOT* faked, and I understand both as an engineer and as an ex-spook just how virtually impossible it would have been to fake, at the time especially. These conspiracy wingnuts seriously need a lobotomy.

You have that advantage for the rest of your life, you lived at that point in human history and remember it.

Love the pic and the video. Believe it or not, I actually remember July 20, 1969. My mother woke me up, took me into the living room, pointed at the TV and told me that I must “remember this, it’s history”. (Referring the moon walk here, not the landing). I fell asleep on the sofa about four seconds later. Hey, I was three! But I do remember being woken up..I guess that’s something. ๐Ÿ˜‰

BTW @ Kryten42: Thank you for trying to help me with Linux, a few dozen posts back. I do appreciate it lots. ๐Ÿ™‚

He probably forgot what he was doing and took a nap after the picture was taken.

Well done Bryan, seriously. ๐Ÿ™‚ Certainly put a smile on my grumpy old dial! ๐Ÿ˜€
