It has been decades since you could trust a Congresscritter to do what they say they will do. They now wait for their corporate masters to tell them what to do, no matter what they have told the voters at home.
]]>You (and the general public) perceive that Congresscritters work for you! The Congresscritters perceive that they work for whoever has the most money to give them.
It’s simple, really. 🙂
]]>I hear it all the time, Steve, and showing them the actual documents doesn’t dissuade them in the slightest. They do the same thing with the Bible, picking and choosing what parts are important.
I’m not joking, they come back from trips to Israel and complain that they couldn’t get ham or shellfish when they were in the country, and when you point them to the relevant chapter and verse, they act like you are crazy for believing that anyone still observes the dietary laws.
Absolutely no anchor in reality. People think I make this stuff up, but it’s like living in an alternate dimension reading the letters column in the Local Puppy Trainer.
]]>I once had the unnerving experience of hearing that exact statement made to me by a very conservative colleague who, until that moment, I had not realized was a nut-case: “The only valid use of federal tax dollars is defense. Everything else I’m paying to the government is really my money.” For a moment, I thought he was joking… but I misunderestimated him.
.-= last blog ..A Bunch Of Baucus-Faucus =-.
“We the People of the United States, in Order to provide for the common defense, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
They seem to believe that the Department of Defense is the only valid government agency, and the rest of the government is illegal.
It’s a form of “political dyslexia” that allows them to eliminate anything they don’t want to have in documents.
]]>Every one of these stupid-ass motherfuckers ought to be walking around with a poster saying, “I can has brain?” What a buncha fucking morons…
