They have spot fires burning in the backwoods and they can’t get to them, so they drop retardant around them to contain them.
They should have total containment shortly as they are at 98%, but it may require rains to actually put the fire out. Until that happens, every windy day is a danger.
The Guiberson Fire was a lot easier to fight because of the access and the light fuels. The Station Fire provided a lot of slow burning wood to turn to embers.
