Valerie Plame’s network involved dozens of people, most of whom are being subjected to imprisonment, if they have not already been executed, and, were overwhelmingly unaware of any connection to the CIA. That’s what a real intelligence network is all about, invisibility.

Individuals are expendable and not overly important in intelligence, it is the networks that take millions of dollars and years to establish that are important.

The Plame network tracked WMDs throughout the region, and was the best source of reliable, verifiable information on Iran’s nuclear program, which a lot of people seem to think is important.
