Most people down here are working multiple part-time jobs trying to get by. A lot of people are pooling resources and apartments are getting crowded. Day labor has just about dried up with the lack of construction jobs.

In reply to hipparchia. The scary part for Okaloosa County is how bad the numbers would be if we didn't have the military and government contractors. The numbers reflect the collapse of the tourist industry and construction.

yeah, pretty bad when even the warmongering industry can't keep employment up in a time of how many wars are we up to now? also sobering: the national unemployment rate is now almost 2 percentage points higher than when that animation ends. .-= last blog ..I'll say one thing for the NY Times =-.
